How do you influence?
I am the former Head of Policy and Communications at the Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion. I was previously a Programme Director of 'Building Futures' a Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) funded initiative with BTEG and Talent which brought the voluntary sector and the private sector together to create jobs.
I am the Former Chief Executive of the Social Policy think tank ROTA and previously worked for the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) as an adviser on the implementation of the new Home Office Guidelines on 'Custody Visiting'.
I have a PhD in Political Science from Loughborough University and I graduated from the University of Hull with a Masters Degree in Modern British Politics under the tutelage of the Conservative Peer Professor the Lord Norton of Louth.
I have worked in the private sector managing and re-branding my families soft drink manufacturing business. In the public & voluntary sectors I have managed European Social Fund (ESF) programs; worked in financial controls and as a contract manager for two London Training and Enterprise Councils (TEC). I sit on the council of the Hansard Society which works to promote democracy and strengthen parliament. I also sit on the Board of the ESRC. I am a former council member of the Deaf Blind charity SENSE 2002-2006 and I am a school governor of St Michaels School in East Wickham . Floyd writes extensively on police authorities, social policy as it impacts on employment, citizenship, representation and democracy. |
